Solar Success! For Start-ups (details)

Target Audience

This program is designed for entrepreneurs who want to establish new solar photovoltaic (PV) installation businesses, as well as electrical and construction business leaders seeking to expand their businesses to include solar PV system sales and integration. This training is also useful for existing solar business owners who need to train new sales and project management employees. Targeted to the knowledgeable technical professional, this training is appropriate for electrical contractors, journeyman electricians, and recent entrants into the solar industry who want to improve their skills and knowledge. This is not an entry-level electrical course; knowledge of electricity and current NEC electrical code is a prerequisite.

Topics Covered:

Equipment overview; system design; string sizing; system installation and commissioning; building and managing a solar business; understanding the solar customer and sales process; financial elements of the sale that apply to PV system economics.


Solar Success! Pro-Technical Track:
Advanced Technical Topics (details)

Target Audience

This program is designed for experienced solar system designers, project managers, engineers, and experienced field technicians seeking to advance their technical skills. It is particularly suited to those who are presently working in the grid-tie and battery-based residential markets and who intend to enter the small-commercial (10kW-1Mw) market. This training is also suited to commercial-only electrical contracting businesses interested in operating in the commercial solar market.

Topics Covered

The technical training specialists at SolarPro magazine have brought together some of the country's premier PV experts to develop a comprehensive slate of advanced system design and installation workshops. The program is intended for experienced (NABCEP or equivalent level) PV designers, engineers and installers currently working at or aspiring to the 1 MW project size. Subject matter focus is progressive, moving logically from pre-design to design to installation, permitting to inspection, commissioning to O&M. Technical emphasis will be placed on optimization at all stages of project development and deployment with special attention given to safety concerns and code compliance.


Solar Success! Pro-Business Track:
Sales, Marketing, and System Finance (details)

Target Audience

This program is designed for experienced solar business owners, sales personnel, project developers and project finance managers seeking to advance their skills. Particularly suited to those who are presently working in the grid-tie and battery-based residential markets and intend to enter the small-commercial (10kW-1Mw) market, This program is also suited to commercial-only electrical contracting businesses interested in operating in the commercial solar market.

The program is designed for solar and electrical professionals seeking product training from a wide-range of leading industry manufacturers as well as an array of business, marketing, sales, and project development workshops.

This program is designed to get you up to speed in a short amount of time. Topics include residential and commercial roof and ground-mount PV mounting systems; PV grid-tie and battery-based inverters including micro, string and central; battery and charged controller technology and products; PV modules including high-efficiency and standard crystalline modules; jobsite safety, NEC code for PV and expedited permitting processes; and market forecast and analysis, marketing and PR strategy, residential and commercial sales tools including system financing, quoting and financial analysis.
